About Owaissa Lake

Owaissa Lake is a freshwater lake in Northeastern Ontario. It is located in a geographic area known as Best Township, Ontario. The lake sits at an elevation of about 311 meters (1,020 feet) above sea level. It is about 780 meters (2,560 feet) long and 510 meters (1,670 feet) wide.

Islands and Water Flow

Owaissa Lake has two small islands. One island is located right in the middle of the lake. The other island can be found towards the northeast side.

Water constantly moves through Owaissa Lake. A stream flows into the lake from the northwest side. Another stream flows out of the lake from the northeast. This outflowing stream connects Owaissa Lake to Ferguson Lake.

The Journey of Owaissa Lake's Water

The water from Owaissa Lake goes on a long journey! After leaving Owaissa Lake and flowing into Ferguson Lake, it enters Net Creek. From Net Creek, the water travels through several other lakes and rivers. These include Cassels Lake, Rabbit Lake, and the Matabitchuan River.

Eventually, the water reaches Lake Timiskaming and then flows into the Ottawa River. The Ottawa River is a major river in Canada. Finally, the water from Owaissa Lake joins the mighty Saint Lawrence River, which flows all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. This shows how all these different bodies of water are connected!
