Frank Sinatra was an amazing American singer. He recorded 59 studio albums and 297 singles during his solo career. This incredible journey lasted for 54 years!
Frank Sinatra started his solo music career in 1943. Before that, he sang with groups like The Hoboken Four and big bands led by Harry James and Tommy Dorsey. He first signed with Columbia Records. His very first album, The Voice of Frank Sinatra, came out in 1946. Later, he became even more famous with Capitol and Reprise Records. He even released his last two albums, Duets and Duets II, with Capitol. Eight collection albums of his music were released while he was alive. Many more have come out since he passed away in 1998.

Studio Albums: His Main Recordings
In 1948, Columbia Records introduced the LP album. Before this, albums were collections of 78s (older, larger records) put together in a booklet. These usually had no more than four records. Many of Sinatra's Capitol studio albums were later re-released. For example, they appeared in the 1992 collection Concepts and the 1998 album The Capitol Years.
