Franklin is a small village located in Morgan County, Illinois, in the United States. In 2020, the village had a population of 610 people. This number was the same as in 2010. Franklin is part of the Jacksonville Micropolitan Statistical Area. This means it is connected to the larger city of Jacksonville for economic and social reasons.

Where is Franklin Located?
Franklin is found in the southeastern part of Morgan County. Illinois Route 104 passes through the southwestern section of the village. This road leads northwest about 14 miles (23 km) to Jacksonville. Jacksonville is the main town, or county seat, of Morgan County. Route 104 also goes northeast about 6 miles (10 km) to Waverly.
Land and Water Around Franklin
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Franklin covers a total area of about 0.83 square miles (2.15 square kilometers). All of this area is land. There are no large bodies of water within the village limits. Water from Franklin flows southwest into the Left Fork of Apple Creek. It also flows east into Woods Creek. Both of these smaller streams eventually join Apple Creek. Apple Creek then flows west and empties into the Illinois River.
