French Creek is a small town in Chautauqua County, New York. In 2020, about 997 people lived there. The town gets its name from a stream that flows through it. This stream eventually joins the Allegheny River in Pennsylvania. French Creek is located in the very southwestern part of New York state.

People first settled in the area around 1811. The town of French Creek was officially created in 1829. It was formed from a part of the nearby town of Clymer.
