History of the Center
The idea for this amazing center began in 2001. Snohomish County and Boeing worked together on the plan. They wanted to create a special place to learn all about flight. Construction started in November 2004. The center officially opened its doors on December 16, 2005.
For many years, a group called the Institute of Flight managed the center. They had many fantastic airplane exhibits for visitors to enjoy. In October 2018, Boeing took over running the facility. When Boeing took charge, some of the original exhibits were changed.
