Gabby Bernadette Barrett (born on March 5, 2000) is an American country music singer and actress. She became well-known after finishing third on the sixteenth season of American Idol.
Her first song, "I Hope", was a huge success. It was the first time a solo female singer had a top 10 country song debut since 2017. The song reached the top three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It has also been certified seven times platinum, meaning it sold millions of copies. Her first album, Goldmine, was released on June 19, 2020. Many people in country music see Gabby as a rising star.

Gabby Barrett's Early Life
Gabby Barrett grew up with seven brothers and sisters. Her parents are Blaise and Pam Barrett. She went to Serra Catholic High School in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Later, she switched to an online school called Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School.
Gabby started singing when she was nine years old. By age eleven, she was already performing shows. In 2014, she won a talent competition called Kean Quest Talent Search. When she was 14, her father encouraged her to sing in a choir. This led her to join the Lamb of God Christian Ministries group.

Gabby Barrett tried out for the sixteenth season of American Idol. She auditioned in Nashville, Tennessee. She made it all the way to the final round of the competition. Gabby was voted off just before the very end, finishing in third place.

Success with Goldmine (2019–2021)
In 2019, Gabby released her song "I Hope" on her own. She performed this song on American Idol again in May 2019. Music labels noticed her talent after this performance. Gabby then announced she had signed with Warner Music Nashville.
"I Hope" was officially released as a single on June 27, 2019. It quickly became very popular. The song reached number one on Billboard's Country Streaming Songs chart. It also topped the Country Airplay chart in April 2020. Later, it hit number one on the Hot Country Songs chart.
On April 7, 2020, a new version of "I Hope" was released. This version featured the singer Charlie Puth. The song reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on November 21, 2020. This made Gabby the first female country artist to reach the top three since Taylor Swift. The song stayed at number one on the Hot Country Songs chart for 25 weeks.
Gabby's first album, Goldmine, came out on June 19, 2020. In its first week, the album was streamed almost 16 million times. This set a new record for the most streams for a debut country album by a woman. Gabby also performed as an opening act for famous artists like Toby Keith and Keith Urban. In 2021, she opened for Thomas Rhett and the Zac Brown Band.
Gabby has also sung the national anthem at a Pittsburgh Pirates' game. She performed it for the Pittsburgh Steelers and at the Daytona 500. Carrie Underwood once said that Gabby was even further along in her career at Gabby's age. In September 2021, Gabby was nominated for four 55th Annual Country Music Association Awards. A special deluxe edition of Goldmine was released on November 19, 2021.
New Music and Acting (2023–Present)
On June 12, 2023, Gabby released "Glory Days." This song was the first single from her second album, Chapter & Verse. The full album was released on February 2, 2024. Gabby also made her acting debut in the 2025 movie Hurry Up Tomorrow.
Gabby's Personal Life
Gabby Barrett married Cade Foehner on October 5, 2019. Cade was also a contestant on American Idol.
Gabby and Cade have three children. Their first child, a daughter, was born on January 18, 2021. Their second child, a son, was born on October 27, 2022. On February 17, 2024, they welcomed their third child, another daughter.
