Gabriel Torres's Football Journey
Playing for Clubs
Gabriel Torres was seen as a very promising young player from Panama. In 2007, he even got to train with famous clubs like Manchester United in England and Valencia in Spain. Unfortunately, he got injured during his second training trip to Manchester and had to return home. He then played for Chepo in Panama.
In 2008, Gabriel was loaned to a Colombian team called La Equidad. He scored a goal in his very first game there! In 2010, he moved to another Colombian team, Atlético Huila. Later, in 2011, he joined Zamora in Venezuela. He became their top goal scorer in February 2013, which was a big achievement.
On August 8, 2013, Gabriel signed with the Colorado Rapids in the Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States. He was their first "Designated Player," which means he was a special player whose salary didn't fully count against the team's salary cap, allowing them to sign top talent.
Playing for Panama
Gabriel Torres first played for the Panama national team in October 2005. He was also the captain of Panama's Under-20 team that played in the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada in 2007.
