Gary Dourdan, born Gary Robert Durdin on December 11, 1966, is an American actor. He is well-known for playing Warrick Brown in the TV show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He also played Shazza Zulu in A Different World and Mickey Monroe in the movie Righteous Villains.

Early Life and Family
Gary Dourdan was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His mother, Sandy, was a teacher and fashion designer. His father, Robert Durdin, was a businessman and worked with jazz musicians. Gary is the fourth of five children in his family.
Acting Career Highlights
Dourdan started his career in the early 1990s. He played in bands and acted in plays in New York City. He appeared in music videos, including Janet Jackson's hit song "Again" in 1993. He also had a small role in the music video "Move the Crowd" by Eric B. & Rakim.
Early Television and Film Roles
Debbie Allen chose him to play Shazza Zulu in the TV series A Different World. In 1996, Dourdan appeared in an episode of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. He played Christie in the 1997 film Alien Resurrection. He also acted in movies like Playing God and Thursday. On TV, he was in Swift Justice and had a recurring role in Soul Food.
Music and Other Appearances
Gary Dourdan is also an alternative musician and a record producer. He joined hip-hop artist DMC (from Run–D.M.C.) on stage at the Live 8 concert in 2005. He also sang with Macy Gray at the 2005 Emmy Awards. In 2007, he played Cameron in the movie Perfect Stranger, starring Halle Berry.
Starring in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
Dourdan's most famous role was as Warrick Brown in the TV series CSI. The show started on October 6, 2000. His character, Warrick Brown, was a crime scene analyst in Las Vegas. Warrick used his own experiences to help solve cases.
In 2008, Dourdan left CSI. His character was shot in the Season 8 finale. In the Season 9 premiere, Warrick Brown died in the arms of his friend and colleague, Gil Grissom. After CSI, he had roles in the series Christine and Being Mary Jane.
Personal Life and Hobbies
Gary Dourdan has a diverse background, including African-American, Native American, Franco-Haitian, Jewish, Irish, and Scottish roots. He was married to model Roshumba Williams from 1992 to 1994. He has two children: a son with Cynthia Hadden and a daughter with Jennifer Sutton. Gary enjoys collecting classic cars. He was even featured on a TV show called Street Customs because of his hobby.
