Gary Dourdan (born Gary Robert Durdin on December 11, 1966) is an American actor. He is famous for playing Warrick Brown in the TV show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He also played Shazza Zulu in A Different World and Mickey Monroe in the movie Righteous Villains.

Early Life and Interests
Gary Dourdan was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His mother, Sandy, was a teacher and fashion designer. His father, Robert Durdin, was a businessman and helped jazz musicians. Gary is the fourth of five children in his family.
When he was young, his family moved to Willingboro Township, New Jersey. Gary was very interested in acting, music, and martial arts. Later, he moved to New York City. There, he worked as a doorman at a place where musicians practiced.
Acting Career
In the early 1990s, Gary Dourdan played in several bands in New York City. He also acted in plays in the New York area. He appeared in music videos, like playing Janet Jackson's love interest in her 1993 song "Again." He also had a small part in the music video "Move the Crowd" by Eric B. & Rakim.
Actress and director Debbie Allen saw him in a play and chose him to play Shazza Zulu on the TV show A Different World. In 1996, Dourdan was in an episode of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman as a character named Ziggy.
A year later, in 1997, he played Christie, a crew member on a spaceship, in the movie Alien Resurrection. He also appeared in the films Playing God and Thursday. On TV, he starred in Swift Justice and had a repeating role on Soul Food. Gary Dourdan is also an alternative musician and a record producer.
In 2007, he played Cameron in the movie Perfect Stranger. His character was the boyfriend of Rowena Price, played by Halle Berry.
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
Gary Dourdan's most well-known role was as a cast member of the TV series CSI. The show started on October 6, 2000. He played Warrick Brown, a crime scene investigator. Warrick had some challenges in his past, but he used his experiences to help him in his job in Las Vegas.
In 2008, Gary Dourdan's contract with CBS for CSI was ending. They could not agree on a new contract, so he left the show. In the last episode of Season 8, his character, Warrick Brown, was shot. In the first episode of Season 9, Warrick died in the arms of his friend and colleague, Gil Grissom.
After leaving CSI, Gary Dourdan took on other roles. He played Stephan in the series Christine and Sheldon DeWitt in Being Mary Jane.
Personal Life
Gary Dourdan has a diverse background, including African-American, Native American, Franco-Haitian, Jewish, Irish, and Scottish roots.
He was married to model Roshumba Williams from 1992 to 1994. Gary has two children. His son, Lyric, is with Cynthia Hadden. His daughter, Nyla, is with Jennifer Sutton, whom he dated from 1995 to 2000.
Gary Dourdan enjoys collecting classic cars. He was even featured on a TV show called Street Customs because of his hobby.
