Geldrop-Mierlo (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌɣɛldrɔp ˈmiːrloː]) is a town in the southern part of the Netherlands. It is located in the province of North Brabant. This town was created on January 1, 2004. It was formed when the two smaller towns of Geldrop and Mierlo joined together.

Exploring Geldrop and Mierlo
Geldrop-Mierlo is home to many people. It covers a certain area of land. The two main parts of this town are Geldrop and Mierlo. They used to be separate towns. But they decided to merge into one big municipality. This happened because another nearby city, Helmond, was thinking about taking over Mierlo.

Over the years, many old things have been found in Geldrop-Mierlo. These finds tell us about people who lived here a very long time ago.
Ancient Discoveries
More than 10,000 years ago, hunters of reindeer lived in this area. They belonged to a group called the Ahrensburg culture. They set up their tents here. Two special items with drawings on them were found. One shows a reindeer horn. The other shows a dancing little girl. She is known as the 'Venus of Mierlo'.
Stone Age and Roman Times
In the southern part of Zesgehuchten, which is a district of Geldrop, signs of small villages have been found. These villages date back to the New Stone Age, around 3000 BC. Items from the Roman time and the early Middle Ages were also found. These were discovered in areas like Genoenhuis and Hoog Geldrop.
Recent Excavations
In 1989, archaeologists dug near 't Zand, a cemetery. They made an amazing discovery. They found four old settlements. These settlements were from the late Roman time and the Middle Ages. This covers a long period, from the years 350 to 1225.
