Gerald Edwind Fitch (born August 12, 1982) is an American professional basketball player. He played as a shooting guard. Gerald played college basketball at the University of Kentucky. He also played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and for many teams around the world.

Gerald Fitch's Basketball Journey
High School and College Years
Gerald Fitch grew up loving basketball. He went to Westside High School in Macon, Georgia. In his final year there, he was named "Mr. Basketball" for the state of Georgia. This award goes to the best high school basketball player in the state.
In 2000, Gerald joined the University of Kentucky basketball team. He quickly became a starter in his first year. He was even named to the All-SEC Freshman Team. This means he was one of the best new players in his college league.
Gerald had a very successful four years at Kentucky. His team had impressive records, like 32 wins and only 4 losses in his junior year. In his senior year, they had 27 wins and 5 losses. His college career ended in the 2004 NCAA Tournament. His team lost a close game to UAB, with Gerald missing a shot right at the end.
Playing Professional Basketball
Early Career and NBA Tryouts
After college, Gerald was not chosen in the 2004 NBA draft. But he still got a chance to play professionally. He signed with the Washington Wizards for the 2004–05 season. He played in some practice games but was not kept for the regular season.
After that, Gerald played basketball overseas. He played in the Euroleague and the Ukrainian SuperLeague. In 2005, he signed with the Miami Heat for the 2005–06 NBA season. He played as a backup point guard. Later that season, he was traded to the Houston Rockets but was released before playing any games for them.
In 2006, Gerald played for the Austin Toros in the NBA Development League. He also tried out for the Detroit Pistons in 2007 but was released before the season started.
Playing Around the World
Gerald Fitch spent most of his career playing for teams in many different countries. He played in Turkey for teams like Galatasaray and Aliaga Petkim. He was even the top scorer in the Turkish League in 2007.
He also played in Italy for Pallacanestro Cantù. Later, he moved to Spain to play for Unicaja Málaga and Baloncesto Fuenlabrada. His journey continued to China, where he played for the Foshan Long Lions.
Gerald also played in Puerto Rico for the Piratas de Quebradillas. He played in Venezuela for Marinos de Anzoátegui. In Argentina, he played for San Lorenzo de Almagro and Regatas Corrientes. His long career shows how much he loved the game and how he played all over the world.
