Gerald Robinson started his professional basketball career in 2008. He first played in Spain for teams like Oviedo CB and Cantabria Baloncesto. After that, he moved around, playing for teams in various countries.
Playing in Iceland
Robinson spent the 2010–2011 season with a team called Haukar in Iceland. He was a top player, scoring about 20.6 points and grabbing 13.6 rebounds per game. Rebounds are when a player gets the ball after a missed shot.
In January 2014, he joined another Icelandic team, Höttur. There, he continued to play well, averaging 21.9 points and 9.6 rebounds.
Playing in the UK
During the 2017–2018 season, Gerald played for the Surrey Scorchers in the British Basketball League. He averaged 13.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game for the team. He also played for the Plymouth Raiders in 2009 and again in 2014.
Return to Iceland and Later Career
In 2018, Robinson signed with Njarðvík in Iceland. Later that year, he joined ÍR. He was a key player for ÍR, averaging 18.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.
He helped ÍR make an amazing comeback in the playoffs. His team was down 0–2 in a series but managed to win three games in a row to advance. This was a rare achievement in the league's history. He also helped ÍR reach the Úrvalsdeild finals.
In August 2019, Robinson returned to Haukar, the team he played for earlier in his career. In August 2020, he signed with Sindri Höfn, another Icelandic team. He continued to perform strongly, averaging 22.3 points and 10.1 rebounds.
In July 2021, Gerald joined Selfoss, where he averaged 24.2 points and 12.6 rebounds in his first season. He played for Selfoss until 2023, marking the end of his professional playing career.
