Gilbert's Soccer Journey

Gilbert Álvarez started playing soccer in his hometown of Santa Cruz, Bolivia. He was part of several youth teams, including Club Destroyers and Club Calleja. These teams helped him learn and grow as a young player.

In August 2010, Gilbert moved to Brazil to join a big club called Cruzeiro. Even though he was with the team, he did not play in any first-team games during his time there.

Later, in August 2011, Gilbert thought about moving to Europe to play soccer. His agent talked with clubs in Germany and Italy, but a move did not happen at that time.

On November 25, 2023, Gilbert joined Arema, a club in Indonesia. However, he left the club early on March 7, 2024. He said he wanted to be closer to his family. Since 2024, he has been playing for Oriente Petrolero in Bolivia.
