Giles Lyndon Scott (born June 23, 1987) is a famous British competitive sailor. He has won two Olympic gold medals and many world championships in a type of boat called a Finn. At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, he won the gold medal for Team GB in the Finn Class. He was so good that he secured his win a day before the competition ended!
In 2024, Giles took over as the main driver for the Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team. He won his first SailGP event in Canada in June 2024. He also worked as the Head of Sailing for the INEOS Britannia team, which competed in the America's Cup. Later in 2024, he became the driver for Canada's NorthStar SailGP Team.

Early Life and How He Started Sailing
Giles Scott was born in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, England. When he was one year old, his family moved to Canada. This is where he first tried sailing in small boats on the Ottawa River.
When he was six, he moved back to England. His parents encouraged him to get into competitive sailing at Grafham Water. He went to Sharnbrook Upper School and later studied Geography at the University of Southampton.
