Gisela Lladó Cánovas (born 1 January 1979), known simply as Gisela, is a singer from Spain. She was born in El Bruc, a town near Barcelona in Catalonia. Before becoming famous, she studied journalism at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Gisela became well-known after she finished eighth in the first Spanish season of the TV show Operación Triunfo in 2001. She is also famous for representing Andorra in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 held in Belgrade, Serbia.

Gisela's Music Journey

After Operación Triunfo, Gisela released her first album, Parte De Mí, in Spain in 2002. It sold many copies very quickly. In the same year, she sang as a backing vocalist for her friend Rosa López at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 in Tallinn.

In 2003, Gisela won an award for best voice at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival. She also won the competition with her song Este Amor Es Tuyo. Her second album, Más Allá, came out in 2003. It included popular songs like Más Allá (which also had a Catalan version called Més enllà) and the number one hit Sola.

Ni te lo imaginas Album

Gisela's third album, Ni te lo imaginas, was released in 2006. This album was with a new record company called Filmax. It featured four singles. Two of these, Turu-Turu and Mi mundo eres tú, became some of her most successful songs. Turu-Turu was a pop ballad that reached number one in Spain. A special version of the album was later released, which included two new songs: Mi mundo eres tú and Viviré en tus sueños.

Gisela was chosen to represent Andorra at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with her song "Casanova". She performed in the first semi-final on May 20, 2008. Even though she did not make it to the final, placing 16th out of 19 entries, her song "Casanova" was very popular in Spain, reaching number two on the music charts.

Gisela has lent her voice to many Disney movies in Spanish and Catalan. She was the voice of characters in:

In February 2020, Gisela performed at The Academy Awards in Los Angeles. She sang the Spanish part of the song "Into The Unknown" from Frozen II. She performed alongside Idina Menzel, Aurora, and eight other international voice actors who sang a line of the song in their own languages.
