Glasgow South West is an area in Glasgow, Scotland, that elects one person to be its representative in the UK Parliament. This special area is called a constituency. The person elected is known as a Member of Parliament (MP). They are chosen by a voting system called "first past the post," where the candidate with the most votes wins.
This constituency was first created for the general election in 2005. In the 2017 election, the result was very close. The winner won by only 60 votes!
At the 2019 general election, Chris Stephens from the SNP was re-elected. He won with a bigger lead than before. He got 4,900 more votes than the second-place candidate, Matt Kerr from the Labour Party.
