Glenn Allen Love Jr. (born June 8, 1989) is a former American football player. He was a linebacker, which is a defensive position. Glenn played in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played for teams like the BC Lions and Calgary Stampeders. He also played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Montreal Alouettes. Before playing professionally, he played college football at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Growing Up and High School Sports

Glenn Love grew up playing many sports. He played high school football at Hamilton High School in Chandler, Arizona. In 2006, he was a star player. He made over 100 tackles. He also set a school record with 10 interceptions. Because of his great performance, he was named first-team all-state. This means he was one of the best players in the entire state. Glenn also played soccer, basketball, and ran track.

College Football Career

Glenn Love played college football for the UCLA Bruins. He was part of the team from 2008 to 2011. In 2007, he couldn't play due to injuries. He was redshirted, which means he practiced but didn't play in games. This allowed him to save a year of eligibility.

Playing for the UCLA Bruins

In 2008, Glenn played in all 12 games for UCLA. He made 17 solo tackles and forced one fumble. The next year, 2009, he played in all 13 games. He continued to make tackles and help his team. In 2010, he played in all 12 games again. He recorded a sack and broke up two passes.

Senior Year and Position Change

For his senior year in 2011, Glenn played in 11 games. He started six of those games as a linebacker. During this season, he made 23 solo tackles. He also had one sack and forced another fumble. Glenn started his college career as a safety. This is another defensive position. Later, he changed to play linebacker for his last two seasons. He was mostly a special teams player and a backup during his time in college.

Professional Football Career

After college, Glenn Love began his professional career. He signed with the BC Lions in the CFL on June 24, 2012. His first CFL game was on August 6, 2012. He played against the Toronto Argonauts. He stayed with the Lions for about a year.

Playing for the Calgary Stampeders

Glenn then joined the Calgary Stampeders on August 28, 2013. He became a very important player for their special teams. In 2014, he was named the CFL Special Teams Player of the Week. This was for his excellent performance in Week 19 of the 2014 CFL season. He played in 43 games for the Stampeders between 2013 and 2016. He started eight of those games. With the Stampeders, he won the Grey Cup in 2014. The Grey Cup is the championship trophy of the CFL.

Later CFL Teams

In 2017, Glenn Love played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He dressed for 11 games with them. After that, he moved to the Montreal Alouettes. He played for the Alouettes from 2018 to 2019. During his time there, he played in 15 games and started seven of them.
