How Glenoma Got Its Name

The name Glenoma was chosen by a person named Beverly Coiner. She combined two words to create it. The first part, glen, means "valley". The second part, oma, comes from a Hebrew word meaning "a measure of grain". So, the name Glenoma was meant to mean "fruitful valley".

First Covered Pool

In 1961, something exciting happened in Glenoma. The very first covered swimming pool in all of Lewis County opened there. This was a big deal for the community!
