Glenoma is a small community in Lewis County, Washington. It's an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own city government. You can find Glenoma off U.S. Route 12. It is located between the towns of Morton and Randle. This area is also northeast of Riffe Lake.

History of Glenoma
Glenoma had different names before it became Glenoma. It was first called Vern, and then for a short time, Verndale.
How Glenoma Got Its Name
The name Glenoma was chosen by a person named Beverly Coiner. She combined two words to create it. The first part, glen, means "valley". The second part, oma, comes from a Hebrew word meaning "a measure of grain". So, the name Glenoma was meant to mean "fruitful valley".
First Covered Pool
In 1961, something exciting happened in Glenoma. The very first covered swimming pool in all of Lewis County opened there. This was a big deal for the community!

Parks and Recreation
Glenoma is a great spot for outdoor fun. It's located just north of several cool recreation areas.
Nearby Recreation Spots
- Riffe Lake: This is a large lake where people can enjoy water activities.
- Taidnapam Park: A popular park for camping and outdoor adventures.
- Cowlitz Falls Park: This park is found on the Cispus River. It's close to where the river meets Lake Scanewa.
Glenoma County Park
There's also a recreation area called Frost Creek Park. It started in the mid-1970s and covers about 34-acre (14 ha) of land. This park was later renamed Glenoma County Park, or sometimes Glenoma Community Park. It's a place for everyone in the community to enjoy.
Education in Glenoma
Students living in Glenoma attend schools that are part of the White Pass School District.
Glenoma Elementary School
The original Glenoma Elementary School was built in the 1920s. Sadly, it burned down in 1932 but was rebuilt. However, due to fewer students, the school closed in 2004. After it closed, the building was taken down in 2011. Since 2004, elementary students from the Glenoma area have been going to Randle Elementary School.
