Gonzalo de Aguilera Munro (born December 26, 1886 – died May 15, 1965) was a Spanish nobleman and army officer. He served in the Spanish Army during the Spanish Civil War as part of the Nationalist side. He was a press officer for important generals like Francisco Franco and Emilio Mola. In 1919, he became the 11th Count of Alba de Yeltes, which is a special noble title.

Early Life and Education

Gonzalo de Aguilera Munro was born in Madrid, Spain, on December 26, 1886. His father, Agustín Aguilera y Gamboa, was also a military officer and the 10th Count of Alba de Yeltes. Gonzalo's mother, Mary Munro, was from Scotland.

He went to school in England. First, he attended Wimbledon College. Later, he studied at Stonyhurst College, a well-known school in Lancashire. His father had also gone to Stonyhurst College.

Role in the Spanish Civil War

During the Spanish Civil War, Gonzalo de Aguilera Munro worked as a press officer. This meant he helped share information and news from the Nationalist side. He worked with many war correspondents, who were journalists reporting on the war. Some of these journalists included Sefton Delmer, Arnold Lunn, and Hubert Renfro Knickerbocker.

Later Life

As he grew older, Gonzalo de Aguilera Munro faced some personal challenges. He passed away in 1965 in Salamanca, Spain.
