Gusty Peak is a cool mountain located in the Kananaskis Range in Alberta, Canada. It stands tall in the beautiful Canadian Rockies. This mountain got its name in 1972 from a climber named Glen Boles. He was the first person to reach its top, and he named it "Gusty Peak" because the weather was super windy that day!

Mountain Weather

Gusty Peak is in a part of the world that has a "subarctic climate." This means it gets really cold and snowy winters, but the summers are usually mild.

Winter Conditions

During the winter, temperatures on Gusty Peak can drop below −20 degrees Celsius (that's -4 degrees Fahrenheit!). When you add in the wind, it can feel even colder, sometimes below −30 degrees Celsius (-22 degrees Fahrenheit). This is why it's called "Gusty Peak" – the wind can be very strong!

Summer Conditions

Even in summer, the weather can change quickly in the mountains. While summers are generally mild, it's always important to be prepared for cooler temperatures and sudden storms.
