Gwendoline See-Hian Yeo (born on July 10, 1977) is an actress from Singapore. She is well-known for her roles in TV shows like General Hospital (as Dr. Kelly Lee) and Desperate Housewives (as Xiao-Mei). She also played Sun Fu in the movie Broken Trail. Besides acting on screen, Gwendoline Yeo is famous for lending her voice to many cartoon characters and video games.

Early Life and Achievements
Gwendoline Yeo was born in Singapore. When she was a teenager, she moved to California, United States. She went to St. Ignatius College Preparatory and finished with high honors in 1994.
Later, she graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1997 with excellent grades. She also studied classical piano and earned a special diploma from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
Before becoming a famous actress, Gwendoline won two beauty pageants. She was crowned Miss Asian America in 1995. A few years later, she also became Miss Chinatown USA in 1998–99.
Her uncle is George Yeo, a former politician from Singapore. He used to be the Minister for Foreign Affairs for Singapore from 2004 to 2011.

Gwendoline Yeo has worked in many different areas of acting, from movies and TV shows to voice acting for cartoons and video games.
Film Roles
Gwendoline Yeo has appeared in several films. In Broken Trail, she was chosen by the famous actor Robert Duvall to act alongside him. Her performance in this film was highly praised. She even received a nomination for Best Actress in 2007.
In an independent film called Heathens and Thieves, Gwendoline played a character named Kun Hua. For this role, she won Best Actress awards at two film festivals: the WorldFest Houston International Film Festival and the Iowa Film Festival.
She also starred in American Girl: Ivy & Julie, which was a special show nominated for an Emmy Award. Other movies she has been in include The Jane Austen Book Club, Night Skies, and The Magic of Ordinary Days.
Television Roles
Many people know Gwendoline Yeo best from her role as Xiao-Mei in the popular TV show Desperate Housewives. Xiao-Mei was the maid for Gabrielle and Carlos Solis. Her character became very popular on the show.
Gwendoline was also cast in The CW's Kung Fu as Zhilan. However, before the show aired, another actress took over the role.
She played Sargent Richelle in the series American Crime. She also had a regular role as Kelly Lee on General Hospital. You might have seen her in other popular shows like NCIS, Grey's Anatomy, Castle, The Mentalist, and Chuck.
Voice Acting Roles
Gwendoline Yeo is a very busy voice actress. She has voiced many characters in animated shows, movies, and video games. She even has action figures based on some of her characters!
She started her voice acting career in 2003 on What's New, Scooby-Doo?. More recently, she voiced Lady Shiva in Young Justice and Tsiao Jung in the Emmy-winning series Love, Death & Robots.
She voiced Shinigami in Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Later, in 2020, she voiced another well-known TMNT character, Karai, in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Her other animated characters include Nala Se in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Domino in Wolverine and the X-Men, and Lola Chang in Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. She has also been a guest voice on shows like Phineas and Ferb and Kim Possible.
In video games, Gwendoline is famous for voicing Paine in Final Fantasy X-2 and Kingdom Hearts II. She was also the main female character, Forty-Five, in SOCOM 4 U.S. Navy SEALs. Other video game roles include Lady Deathstrike in X-Men: Next Dimension and Yuma in Far Cry 4.
Other Creative Projects
Gwendoline Yeo loves music, especially playing the guzheng, which is a Chinese long zither. She created a one-woman radio show on NPR-KCRW where she shared her personal story. The show also featured her first two songs, "Kiss My Grits" and "Lovers," which included her zither playing and singing.
Her radio show later became a theater play called Laughing With My Mouth Wide Open. Gwendoline wrote the play, created the music for it, and starred in it. The play received great reviews.
Gwendoline also designed her own limited-edition clothing line. All the clothes sold out quickly, and she donated the money to a charity called Kentucky's Christian Appalachian Project.
