Hörður Björgvin Magnússon (born on February 11, 1993) is a professional footballer from Iceland. He plays as a centre-back, which is a defensive position, and is also a member of the Iceland national team.

About Hörður
Hörður was born in Reykjavík, Iceland. He is known for his strong defensive skills on the football field. He has played for several clubs in different countries, including Italy, England, Russia, and Greece. He has also proudly represented his home country, Iceland, in many international matches.
Starting His Football Journey
Hörður began his football journey at a young age. He joined the youth academy of Knattspyrnufélagið Fram, a club in his hometown, in 1998. He spent many years learning and growing as a player there. By 2009, when he was just 16, he started playing in some first-team matches for Fram.
In 2011, Hörður made a big move to Italy. He transferred to the famous club Juventus. He joined their youth academy, called Primavera, where he continued to develop his skills. After two seasons with the youth team, he was promoted to the main Juventus squad in 2013.
Playing in Italy
Even though he was part of the Juventus first team, Hörður was soon loaned out to other Italian clubs to gain more experience.
Time at Spezia
In 2013, Hörður joined Serie B team Spezia Calcio on a special agreement. He made his debut in September 2013. He played 20 league games for Spezia that season, helping them reach the promotion play-offs.
Loan to Cesena
In 2014, Juventus bought back their full share of Hörður's contract. They then loaned him to A.C. Cesena, a team in Serie A, Italy's top league. His loan was extended in 2015, and he continued to play for Cesena, gaining valuable experience in Italian football.
Moving to England
In 2016, Hörður moved to England. He signed a three-year contract with Bristol City, a club in the Championship. He made his debut for the club in August 2016 and even scored his first goal for them in a winning match against Wigan Athletic.
Hörður was a key player for Bristol City. He played in every game when the team reached the semi-finals of the 2017–18 EFL Cup. They beat several big Premier League teams like Manchester United along the way. They eventually lost to Manchester City in the semi-final.
Playing in Russia
In June 2018, Hörður moved to Russia. He joined CSKA Moscow. He played for CSKA for four seasons, from 2018 to 2022. He was a regular player for the team, making 76 appearances and scoring 5 goals during his time there. His contract with CSKA Moscow ended in May 2022.
Playing in Greece
In July 2022, Hörður signed a two-year contract with Panathinaikos, a club in Greece. He had a good first season with the team. However, in September 2023, he suffered a serious knee injury (an anterior cruciate ligament injury) during a match. He left the club in May 2025 after his contract ended.
Playing for His Country
Hörður has been a proud member of the Iceland national team for many years.
Euro 2016
He was part of Iceland's 23-man squad for Euro 2016. Iceland surprised many people with their great performance in the tournament. They reached the quarter-finals before being knocked out by the host country, France. Hörður was on the squad but did not play in any of Iceland's matches during Euro 2016.
2018 FIFA World Cup
On March 28, 2017, Hörður scored his first goal for Iceland in a friendly match against the Republic of Ireland. After Iceland qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Hörður was named as one of the key players to watch. In May 2018, he was officially named in Iceland's squad for the World Cup in Russia.
