Hörður Björgvin Magnússon (born February 11, 1993) is a professional footballer from Iceland. He plays as a centre-back, which is a defensive position. Currently, he plays for Super League Greece club Panathinaikos in Greece. He also represents the Iceland national team.

Club Career Highlights
Hörður started his football journey in 1998. He joined the youth academy of Knattspyrnufélagið Fram in his hometown of Reykjavík, Iceland. He played for their youth teams until 2010. During this time, he also played six matches for the club's main team.
Playing for Juventus
In 2011, Hörður moved to Italy to join the famous club Juventus. He first played for their youth team, known as the Primavera (under-19) team. After two seasons, he was promoted to the first-team squad in 2013.
Loan Spells and Experience
Hörður gained more experience by playing for other clubs on loan.
Time at Spezia
In 2013, Hörður joined Serie B team Spezia Calcio. He played his first game for them on September 24, 2013. He played 20 league matches for Spezia that season.
Playing for Cesena
In 2014, Juventus loaned Hörður to Serie A club A.C. Cesena. He stayed with Cesena for two seasons. He played 12 matches in the top Italian league in his first year. In his second season, he played 26 matches and scored one goal.
Moving to Bristol City
In 2016, Hörður moved to England. He signed a three-year contract with Championship club Bristol City. He scored his first goal for the club in his debut match on August 6, 2016.
Hörður was an important player when Bristol City reached the semi-finals of the 2017–18 EFL Cup. They beat several big teams like Manchester United. They eventually lost to Manchester City in the semi-final.
Playing in Russia with CSKA Moscow
In 2018, Hörður moved to Russia. He joined CSKA Moscow. He played for CSKA Moscow for four seasons. He played 76 league matches and scored 5 goals for the club. His contract with CSKA ended in 2022.
Current Club: Panathinaikos
In July 2022, Hörður signed a two-year contract with Panathinaikos in Greece. He had a good first season with the club. However, in September 2023, he suffered a serious knee injury during a match.

UEFA Euro 2016
He was part of Iceland's squad for the Euro 2016 tournament. Iceland did very well in the competition. They reached the quarter-finals before being knocked out by France. Hörður did not play in any of Iceland's matches during this tournament.
FIFA World Cup 2018
On March 28, 2017, Hörður scored his first goal for Iceland. It was in a friendly match against the Republic of Ireland. Iceland qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Hörður was named in the 23-man squad for this big tournament.
