Halfway, also known as Halfwayhouse, is a neighbourhood located on the south-west side of Glasgow, Scotland. Its name comes from its location: it's about 3 miles (5 km) from both Glasgow and Paisley. This means it's "halfway" between the two cities!

History of Halfway
Halfway used to be a small village on its own. It sat right on the old border between two areas called Renfrewshire and Lanarkshire.
Becoming Part of Glasgow
In 1926, Halfwayhouse and some nearby villages like Cardonald and Hillington became part of the growing city of Glasgow. This process is called "annexation," which means a city takes over nearby areas. Because of this, many local roads had to be renamed. This was to avoid having two roads with the same name in Glasgow.
Developing the Neighbourhood
During the 1940s and 1950s, Halfwayhouse grew a lot. New buildings and homes were built. Today, there's not much left of the original small village. However, the main road between Glasgow and Paisley still runs through the area.
Halfway's Surroundings
Halfway is bordered by two large cemeteries. To the north, you'll find Craigton Cemetery. The tall Moss Heights apartments, built in the 1950s, overlook this cemetery. To the south, there's Cardonald Cemetery, which is next to the Mosspark neighbourhood.
