Hannah Angela Kearney, born on February 26, 1986, is an American mogul skier. She is famous for winning a gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics and a bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Mogul skiing is a type of freestyle skiing where athletes ski down a bumpy slope, perform jumps, and show off their skills.

About Hannah Kearney's Life
Hannah Kearney was born in Norwich, Vermont. Her parents are Jill and Tom Kearney. They met while studying at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Hannah grew up and still lives in Norwich, Vermont. She finished high school at Hanover High School.
Hannah's mother helps promote youth sports in Norwich. Hannah also studied at Dartmouth College.

In her free time, Hannah enjoys riding horses and knitting. She also likes to play soccer and read books. Hannah enjoys watching her brother, Denny, play hockey. She feels connected to Canada because her mother grew up in Montreal. Hannah also has family living in Vancouver and Montreal.

Hannah Kearney is a very successful mogul skier. She has competed in many big events, including the Winter Olympics and World Championships.
Hannah at the 2006 Winter Olympics
The 2006 Winter Olympics in Italy was Hannah's first Olympic competition. Many people thought she would win a gold medal. However, she had a difficult first run. She stumbled after landing her first jump.
Her score was 20.80 points, which put her in 10th place at that moment. Only the top 20 skiers could move on to the final round. Unfortunately, Hannah did not make it to the finals.
Hannah's Gold Medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics
In December 2009, Hannah won the US Olympic trial event. This win earned her a spot on the US Team for the 2010 Winter Olympics. The Olympics were held in Vancouver, Canada.
In the final round, Hannah had the best qualifying score of 25.96. This meant she would be the last skier to go. Her teammate, Shannon Bahrke, was in second place. Canadian skier Jennifer Heil was in first place.
Hannah skied a perfect run. She earned a score of 26.63. This amazing performance won her the gold medal!
Hannah's Bronze Medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics
At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, Hannah again had the best qualifying score. She scored 21.93 points. This meant she would be the last skier in the final round.
Two Canadian sisters, Chloé Dufour-Lapointe and Justine Dufour-Lapointe, were in second and third place. Hannah made a small mistake after her first jump. She scored 21.49 points. This score earned her the bronze medal.
