Hart is a small city in Michigan, USA. It is the main town, also called the county seat, of Oceana County, Michigan. In 2020, about 2,053 people lived there.
Hart is located inside Hart Township. However, it runs its own government and is not part of the township's political system. The city is also known for being the northern end of the Hart-Montague Trail. This trail is a popular spot for biking and walking.

History of Hart
The city of Hart got its name because it is located in the "heart" or center of Oceana County.
Hart was started in 1856 by early settlers, including a person named Nelson Grove. The area around the city, Hart Township, was named after Wellington Hart. These pioneers helped build the first homes and businesses in the area.
Geography and Climate
Hart is a small city in terms of size. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city covers about 2.07 square miles (5.36 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, about 1.91 square miles (4.95 square kilometers). The rest, about 0.16 square miles (0.41 square kilometers), is water.
