Helsingborg Municipality is a special area in Sweden. It is located in Scania County. A municipality is like a local government area. It helps manage things like schools, roads, and parks for the people living there.

The main city in this municipality is Helsingborg. It is the eighth-largest city in Sweden. In 2019, about 147,734 people lived in the municipality. The larger area around the city has about 320,000 people.

For many years, between 1912 and 1971, the city's name was spelled Hälsingborg. But in 1971, when the current municipality was formed, they changed the spelling back to the older version, Helsingborg. This happened when the city joined with four smaller areas nearby. Sometimes, the municipality calls itself Helsingborgs stad, which means Town of Helsingborg. This is just a name and does not change its official status as a municipality.
