Highbury is a suburb located in Adelaide, South Australia. It sits in the beautiful Adelaide foothills, which are hills at the edge of the city. Highbury is part of the City of Tea Tree Gully area.
To its east, Highbury is next to the suburbs of Hope Valley and Dernancourt. The River Torrens forms the southern edge of Highbury. Across the river, you'll find the suburbs of Paradise and Athelstone. The eastern part of Highbury is also within the Adelaide Hills Face Zone, which is a special area that protects the natural look of the hills.
Highbury's Early Days
Highbury has a history that goes back many years. From 1858 until 1930, Highbury was part of a larger local government area. This area was called the District Council of Highercombe.
