History of Hoboken
The city's name probably comes from Hoboken, New Jersey. The state government of Georgia officially made Hoboken a city in 1920.
Hoboken was the first county seat for Brantley County. A county seat is the main town where the county government is located. Hoboken was the county seat from 1920 until 1923. After that, the county seat moved to Nahunta.

Hoboken is in the western part of Brantley County. You can find it at these coordinates: 31°10′58″N 82°8′2″W.
U.S. Route 82, also known as Main Street, goes through the city. This road leads about 9 miles (14 km) east to Nahunta, which is the current county seat. It also goes about 14 miles (23 km) west to Waycross.
The United States Census Bureau says that Hoboken covers a total area of 3.44 square miles (8.9 square kilometers). Only a very small part of this area, about 0.02 square miles (0.04 square kilometers), is water.

Cultural Events in Hoboken
Hoboken has a long history of special singing events. People have been singing from the Sacred Harp for over 150 years. These events still happen every month, and there is also a big yearly meeting.
Twin Oaks Park is a private campground located about 4 miles (6.4 km) outside of Hoboken. It hosts two bluegrass conventions each year. People bring their RVs and campers to listen to bluegrass music.
