Hollybush Hill is a small but interesting hill located in the Malvern Hills range. This range of hills stretches for about 13 kilometers (8 miles) from north to south, right along the border between Herefordshire and Worcestershire in England. Hollybush Hill stands to the east of another hill called Midsummer Hill. It reaches a height of 242 meters (794 feet) above sea level.
What is Hollybush Hill?
Hollybush Hill is more than just a natural landmark. It is also the site of an ancient Iron Age hill fort. This means that long, long ago, people built a fortified settlement on top of the hill. This fort covered both Hollybush Hill and Midsummer Hill, making it a very important place for the people who lived there.
Protecting the Past
Today, this old hill fort is protected as a Scheduled Ancient Monument. This special title means it's a very important historical site that must be preserved. It is owned by an organization called Natural England, which helps look after England's natural environment and historical places.
