Holt is a small city located in the state of Missouri in the United States. It's unique because it sits across two different counties: Clay and Clinton. Holt is also part of the larger Kansas City metropolitan area. In 2020, about 471 people called Holt home.

History of Holt
Holt was officially planned and marked out as a town in 1867. The city was named after a man named Jeremiah Abel Holt. He was one of the first people to settle in this area, moving here from North Carolina. In 1837, he generously donated the land where the city now stands.
Holt holds a very interesting world record! On June 22, 1947, the city experienced the fastest rainfall ever recorded. An incredible 12 inches (about 305 mm) of rain fell in just 42 minutes. That's a lot of rain in a very short time!
Where is Holt Located?
Holt is situated right on the border between Clinton and Clay counties. It's located to the west of I-35, which is a major highway. Another road, Missouri Route 33, also goes through the community. North of Holt, you'll find Lake Arrowhead, which is a reservoir on the Muddy Fork of Clear Creek.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city covers a total area of about 0.45 square miles (1.17 square kilometers), and all of it is land.
