Interstate 95 runs along the northern edge of the community. You can get onto I-95 at Exit 302, which connects to Route 1. Houlton is about 42 miles north of Presque Isle along Route 1. It's also about 120 miles southwest of Bangor if you take I-95. If you travel southeast on Route 1, you'll reach Calais in about 90 miles. You can also reach Woodstock, New Brunswick in Canada, about 16 miles east, by taking I-95 and New Brunswick Route 95.
