Hurricane Bud was a powerful storm that formed in the Pacific Ocean in 2012. It was the very first hurricane of the 2012 Pacific hurricane season. Bud started as a storm on May 21, 2012, and lasted for about five days, ending on May 26, 2012.
Bud's Journey
Hurricane Bud began near the coast of Western Mexico. It grew stronger as it moved, becoming a full hurricane. The storm then headed towards the land.
It eventually made landfall in Western Mexico. This means the center of the storm crossed onto the land. After hitting Mexico, Hurricane Bud moved north. It got close to Baja California, a peninsula in Mexico, but thankfully it did not cause any damage there.
Impact of the Storm
When Hurricane Bud hit Western Mexico, it caused some problems. The strong winds from the hurricane were powerful enough to uproot trees, pulling them right out of the ground. Heavy rains also caused roads to be washed away, making it hard for people to travel.
It is not fully known if anyone was seriously hurt or died because of Hurricane Bud. The storm eventually lost its strength and disappeared over the ocean.
