Where is Indian Shores Located?
Indian Shores is found at these coordinates: 27°51′2″N 82°50′36″W / 27.85056°N 82.84333°W. It is a beautiful beachfront community. The town sits on a narrow strip of land called a barrier island. This island is west of a place called Seminole.
Indian Shores has neighbors on its coastline. To the north, you'll find Indian Rocks Beach. To the south, it borders Redington Shores.

The 2020 United States census showed that 1,190 people lived in Indian Shores. These people made up 634 households, with 413 of them being families. In 2010, there were 1,420 people living in 791 households.
Town Buildings and Services
Indian Shores has been working to improve its town. They have put utility lines underground and repaved roads. They also added safety measures for people walking.
The town staff recently moved into a new building. This new municipal center is where all the town's departments are located. It also has a special room for official meetings. On the fourth floor, there is a large hall with balconies that offer waterfront views.
Police Department Services
Indian Shores has its own police department. The police are on duty 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Their office is in the new Municipal Center. The Indian Shores Police Department also helps the nearby town of Redington Shores.
Police officers patrol in vehicles and also use ATVs on the sandy beach areas. The department also has a special team that investigates crimes. The Police Department started in 1964 and is currently led by Chief Richard (Rick) Swann.
