Issa's Music Journey
Issa grew up surrounded by music. Her mother and aunts, who were part of the Pointer Sisters, guided her. She first started working with the Pointer Sisters in 1985. This was during one of the group's tours.
Later, she helped with some songs on their albums. In 2002, Issa began performing with the group. She took the place of her aunt, June Pointer, who was unable to perform. Issa officially became a permanent member in 2004. June Pointer passed away in 2006.
With her mother, Ruth, and her aunt, Anita Pointer, Issa helped the group become popular again. They had a big success in Europe. This was with a duet song with the singer Natalia. They covered the song "Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves". This song reached number 2 on the music charts in Belgium.
