"It's Raining Again" is a popular song by the English band Supertramp. It came out as a single in 1982. The song is from their album …Famous Last Words…. While both Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson are credited, Roger Hodgson actually wrote this song. At the very end of the song, you can hear parts of the old children's rhyme "It's Raining, It's Pouring".
Roger Hodgson sings all the voices you hear on the studio version of the song. When Supertramp played it live during their Famous Last Words tour, John Helliwell and Scott Page helped sing the lower parts. Roger Hodgson sang the higher parts. Overall, it's a very cheerful and upbeat song.

The Music Video Story
The music video for "It's Raining Again" was directed by Russell Mulcahy. He later directed the famous movie Highlander. The idea for the video came from Keith Williams.
A Journey Through the Desert
The video starts with a man driving a broken-down convertible car. He is going through a dust storm. He arrives at a small town cafe. He has a bouquet of flowers for his girlfriend, who works there as a waitress. But instead of his girlfriend, a co-worker gives him a "Dear John letter." This means his girlfriend is breaking up with him.
A Night at the Drive-In
After this, the man finds his car has a ticket for being parked the wrong way. He then spends a lonely night at the Pickwick Drive-In. The movie playing is called "Famous Last Words," which reminds viewers of Supertramp's album. He sees himself in the movie. He also watches another couple hugging in the car next to his. A small child with shiny silver teeth points out that one of his car's back wheels is missing!
Heading to Los Angeles
The next day, the man is outside the cafe without his car. He kisses the young girl, leaves the flowers with her, and gets on a bus to downtown Los Angeles with his suitcase. On the bus, a passenger playing a guitar greets him. Then, a cowboy puts his long legs on the seat in front of him. Next to the cowboy is a lady putting on lipstick. She wears a white wig that gets hit by a paper airplane thrown by another passenger.
Lost and Found in the Rain
The bus driver wakes the man up at the station. He is the last person on the bus. He realizes his pockets are empty, meaning he was probably robbed. But he still has his suitcase. He tries to get a ride from two "rednecks" in a pickup truck. They play jokes on him and then throw him and his suitcase onto Hollywood Boulevard. After walking a short distance and meeting more rough people, the man is beaten up in an alley. He is left in his underwear, and his suitcase is stolen.
An old lady then gives him an orange umbrella just before it starts to rain heavily. Even though there are many black umbrellas around, he accidentally bumps into his true love. She is holding a yellow umbrella. They hug and start dancing together in the rain. All the black umbrellas disappear. This happy ending is what he saw earlier in the drive-in movie. As the camera moves back, the couple from the convertible now has two children in the back seat. The song ends with the children's nursery rhyme "it's raining, it's pouring..."
