Garret "Jacknife" Lee is an Irish music producer and mixer. He is known for helping create the sound of songs and albums for many popular artists. Some of the well-known musicians he has worked with include U2, R.E.M., the Killers, Taylor Swift, and One Direction.

About Jacknife Lee's Music Career

Garret Lee, also known as Jacknife Lee, started his music journey as a guitarist. He played in a punk band from Dublin called Compulsion. After the band broke up, he began making electronic music on his own.

His first solo music was an EP (a short album) called A Dog Named Snuggles. He released this in 1998 under the name Jacknife Lee. Later that year, he released his first full album, Muy Rico. He released more solo albums, including Punk Rock High Roller in 2001 and a self-titled album in 2007.

Jacknife Lee is also famous for remixing songs. Remixing means taking an existing song and changing it to create a new version. He has remixed tracks for many big names like Run-DMC, U2, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Blur, and Eminem.

Producing and Mixing Hit Songs

As a producer, Jacknife Lee helps artists record their music. He guides them in the studio and shapes the overall sound of their songs and albums. As a mixer, he balances all the different parts of a song, like the vocals, drums, and guitars, so they sound perfect together.

More recently, Jacknife Lee joined Bono (the lead singer of U2) for his "The Stories of Surrender" theater tour in 2022 and 2023. On this tour, he was the musical director, playing keyboards and percussion.

In 2023, Jacknife Lee announced a new album called Los Angeles. He created this album with Lol Tolhurst and Budgie, who are also well-known musicians. The album was released in November 2023.
