Jason made his first senior appearance for Hibernian in November 2013. This was in a Scottish Premiership match against Inverness Caledonian Thistle. He scored his first two career goals on May 21, 2014. Hibernian won 2–0 against Hamilton Academical. This was in the first game of the promotion play-off. Hibs lost the next game 2–0. Jason missed the deciding kick in the penalty shoot-out. This meant Hibs were moved down to the Scottish Championship.
Jason won the SPFL Young Player of the Month award in September 2014. His two goals helped Hibs beat Rangers in Glasgow. On February 16, 2016, Jason made history for Hibs. He became the first player in 42 years to score in four straight Edinburgh derbies. He scored the winning goal against Hearts in a Scottish Cup replay.

He scored the winning goal in a 1–0 win on March 10, 2017. This made him the first Hibernian player to score more than twenty goals in three seasons in a row. This had not happened since Joe Baker between 1957 and 1961.
On April 15, Hibs won the league title. They were promoted back to the Scottish Premiership. They beat Queen of the South 3–0. Jason had promised to bring the team back to the top league. Time at Nottingham Forest

Time at Dundee
