Jeannie Camtu Mai (born January 4, 1979) is a well-known American television host and stylist. She is famous for hosting the makeover show How Do I Look? and the daytime talk show The Real. Jeannie is also a fashion expert who often appears on TV shows like Today and Entertainment Tonight. She has also hosted red carpet events for the American Music Awards and co-hosted the Miss Universe pageants multiple times.

Jeannie Mai was born and grew up in San Jose, California. Her father is Chinese Vietnamese, and her mother is Vietnamese. She went to Milpitas High School.

Jeannie Mai's Career Journey

Starting Out in Makeup (1997–2012)

When Jeannie Mai was 18, she began her career as a makeup artist for MAC Cosmetics in San Jose. She worked hard and soon traveled the world, doing makeup for famous people like Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys. This led her to become a makeup stylist for MTV's Total Request Live and other TV shows.

In 2003, Jeannie started trying out for local TV channels. She wrote her own scripts to show off her hosting skills. She was hired to co-host Stir, a show about Asian-American culture. Later, she hosted her own music countdown show. Jeannie then became an entertainment reporter and producer for The Daily Mixx.

In 2005, Jeannie got her first big hosting job on Character Fantasy on the USA Network. On this show, she helped guests live out their dreams. After that, she moved to Los Angeles. She appeared on MTV's Granted and hosted fashion and entertainment news segments for channels like E!, Lifetime, TLC, and NBC's Today. She also joined the beauty team on TLC's 10 Years Younger.

In 2008, Jeannie hosted Miss America Reality Check for TLC. She also starred in a makeover special called Dude, Where's Your Style. In 2013, Jeannie Mai hosted a live weekly show called Style Pop. From 2013 to 2022, Jeannie was one of the main hosts of the Emmy-winning talk show The Real. She was known for her fun personality and honest talks. She shared her unique views with co-hosts like Tamera Mowry and Loni Love. The show covered many topics, from personal stories to pop culture. In 2018, Jeannie and her co-hosts won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host for their work on The Real.

In 2015, Jeannie hosted the competition show Steampunk'd on GSN. She also reported on fashion for Entertainment Tonight. In 2016, her show How Do I Look? began airing in Asia. The next year, she played Lady Luck on the game show The Joker's Wild.

Jeannie Mai's Personal Life

Jeannie Mai is a Christian. She married Freddy Harteis in 2007, and they divorced in 2018. In 2019, Jeannie announced she was dating rapper Jeezy. They got married in 2021 at their home in Atlanta, Georgia. In January 2022, Jeannie and Jeezy welcomed their daughter. Their divorce was finalized in June 2024.
