Jeddito (which is called Jádító in the Navajo language) is a small community in Navajo County, Arizona, United States. It's known as a census-designated place (CDP), which means it's an area with a lot of people living close together, but it's not officially a city or town. In 2020, about 346 people lived here.
Geography of Jeddito
Jeddito covers an area of about 14 square kilometers (5.4 square miles). All of this area is land.
One interesting fact about Jeddito is its location. It's part of a special area called an exclave of the Navajo Nation. An exclave is like a piece of land that belongs to one group but is completely surrounded by land belonging to another group.
In Jeddito's case, this Navajo land is surrounded by the Hopi Indian Reservation. The Hopi Reservation itself is surrounded by the main Navajo Nation land. This makes Jeddito's location quite unique!

History and Education
The Navajo name for Jeddito, Jádító, means "Antelope Water." This name came from nearby places where antelopes used to drink water often.
Many families living in the Jeddito area are related to families who had to move from the old Hopi Reservation in 1944. This was a time when some Navajo families were asked to move because of a boundary change between the Navajo and Hopi lands.
Jeddito is part of the Cedar Unified School District. This district helps provide education for the children in the area. Until 2012, students in Jeddito could attend White Cone High School.
