Playing for Washington

The Washington Redskins picked Jeremy Sprinkle in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL draft. He signed a four-year contract. During training camp, players compete for a spot on the team. Jeremy worked hard to earn his place.
He played his first professional game in Week 3 against the Oakland Raiders. This was because another player, Jordan Reed, was injured. Jeremy didn't catch any passes in that game, but Washington won. Later that season, he caught his first NFL pass for a touchdown! It was a 7-yard pass from quarterback Kirk Cousins. In his first year, he played in 11 games and caught 2 passes for 13 yards and one touchdown.
In 2018, Jeremy played in all 16 games. He caught 5 passes for 41 yards and one touchdown. The next year, in 2019, he also played in all 16 games. He had his best season with 26 catches for 241 yards and one touchdown. In 2020, he played in 16 games again and helped the team on special teams.
Time with the Dallas Cowboys
In 2021, Jeremy signed with the Dallas Cowboys as a free agent. A free agent is a player who can sign with any team. The Cowboys wanted him to be a "blocking tight end," meaning he would help block for runners and protect the quarterback.
He was released from the main team but then signed to the "practice squad." This is a group of players who practice with the team but don't always play in games. He was later moved to the main team. He played in all 17 games that season. He caught 3 passes for 31 yards.
In 2022, Jeremy signed with the Cowboys again. But he got an Achilles injury during training camp. He was later released from the team.
