Jobs Peak is a tall mountain found in Alpine County, California. In the Northern Paiute language, its name is Wangikudak. This peak is the easiest to see from the Carson Valley in Douglas County, Nevada.
If you love the outdoors, Jobs Peak is a great place to visit. You can go hiking on its trails. In winter, it's also popular for backcountry skiing. From the top, you get amazing views, including Lake Tahoe. The mountain is part of the large Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest.
Why is it Called Jobs Peak?
The mountain gets its name from a man named Moses Job. He was an early settler in the area. Moses Job opened a store in the nearby town of Sheridan, Nevada. This happened in the early 1850s.
