José de Jesús Corona Rodríguez (born on January 26, 1981) is a famous Mexican footballer. He plays as a goalkeeper for the Liga MX club Tijuana.
Corona is well-known for winning an Olympic gold medal. He was the captain of the Mexican team at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Club Career Highlights
Playing for Atlas
José de Jesús Corona began his football journey with the Atlas club in 2002. His first official league game was on February 26, 2003. Atlas won that match 2–1 against UNAM. Corona played in 47 games for Atlas between 2002 and 2004.
Playing for Tecos
In the summer of 2004, Corona moved to the Tecos club. He played his first game for Tecos against América, playing the full 90 minutes. In 2005, he was loaned to Guadalajara for the Copa Libertadores tournament. His amazing performance against Boca Juniors is still remembered. He had a great last season with Tecos before he left.
Playing for Cruz Azul
On June 16, 2009, Corona joined Cruz Azul. He signed a three-year contract with the club. His first game for Cruz Azul was on August 2, 2009, against Pumas, which they won 3–0. He kept a "clean sheet" in that game, meaning he didn't let the other team score.
In 2009, he helped Cruz Azul reach the league final. They finished as runners-up, losing to Monterrey. Corona was a key player when Cruz Azul won the Clausura 2013 Copa MX in 2013. This was the club's first title in 16 years. He also helped Cruz Azul win the 2013–14 CONCACAF Champions League. This win allowed them to play in the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup.
In the Club World Cup, Cruz Azul finished fourth. They played against famous teams like Real Madrid. On May 9, 2015, Corona played his 200th league game for Cruz Azul. Even when the team had a tough season, Corona was recognized as one of the best goalkeepers. He made 60 saves and had 4 clean sheets in the Clausura 2016.
On May 30, 2021, Corona finally won his first Liga MX title with Cruz Azul. They defeated Santos Laguna 2–1 overall. This victory ended Cruz Azul's 23-year wait for a championship. On June 23, 2023, it was announced that Corona would be leaving Cruz Azul.
Playing for Tijuana
After leaving Cruz Azul, Corona joined Tijuana on June 24, 2023. He signed a six-month contract with his new team.
International Career Highlights
Playing for Mexico
José de Jesús Corona has represented Mexico in many international tournaments. He was part of the Mexico U23 team at the 2004 Summer Olympics.
He was also chosen for the Mexico squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He was the second-choice goalkeeper but did not play in any games. In 2007, he was part of the squad for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Olympic Gold Medalist
Corona was selected as one of the older players for the Mexico team at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He was named the captain of the team for the entire tournament. He led his team to the final, where they beat Brazil 2–1. This win earned Mexico its first ever Olympic gold medal in football at Wembley Stadium.
In 2014, Corona was again part of Mexico's squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. He was the second-choice goalkeeper and did not play in any matches. On March 28, 2015, he was the first-choice goalkeeper for a friendly match against Ecuador. He made amazing saves, helping Mexico win 1–0.
In May 2018, Corona was included in Mexico's team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He was part of the final 23-man roster but did not play in any of the games.

José de Jesús Corona is married to Melissa Rivas. They have a daughter named Valentina and a son named Misael. Misael used to play for Cruz Azul's youth teams.
Corona is the second player with the most appearances for Cruz Azul. Only El Cata Dominguez has played more games for the club. He is also famous for being an Olympic Gold Medalist.
