Playing for Clubs: Corona's Journey

Starting with Atlas

Corona began his football career with the Atlas club in 2002. His first official league game was on February 26, 2003. Atlas won that game 2–1 against UNAM. Corona played in 47 games for Atlas between 2002 and 2004.

Moving to Tecos

In the summer of 2004, Corona moved to the Tecos club. He played his first game for Tecos against América. In 2005, he was loaned to Guadalajara for the Copa Libertadores tournament. He played very well, especially against Boca Juniors, helping Guadalajara reach the semifinals. Corona had a great final season with Tecos before he left.

Years with Cruz Azul

On June 16, 2009, Corona joined Cruz Azul for €2.8 million, signing a three-year contract. He played his first game for Cruz Azul on August 2, 2009, winning 3–0 against Pumas. He helped Cruz Azul reach the league final that year, but they finished as runners-up.

Corona was a key player when Cruz Azul won the Clausura 2013 Copa MX in 2013. They won the final against Atlante in a penalty shootout. This was Cruz Azul's first title in 16 years! He also helped Cruz Azul win the 2013–14 CONCACAF Champions League. This win allowed them to play in the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup. Cruz Azul finished fourth in that tournament.

On May 9, 2015, Corona played his 200th league game for Cruz Azul. Even though Cruz Azul had a tough season in 2015-2016, Corona was one of the best goalkeepers. He made 60 saves and had 4 games where he didn't let any goals in.

On May 30, 2021, Corona finally won his first Liga MX title with Cruz Azul. They beat Santos Laguna 2–1 overall. This victory ended Cruz Azul's 23-year wait for a championship! Corona left Cruz Azul on June 23, 2023.

Joining Tijuana

On June 24, 2023, Corona joined Tijuana on a six-month contract. He continues to play as a goalkeeper for them.
