Joshua Robinson (born January 8, 1991) is a former American football player. He played as a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). Josh played college football for the UCF Knights. He was recognized as a Freshman All-American in 2009. The Minnesota Vikings chose him in the third round of the 2012 NFL draft. He also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New Orleans Saints, and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Early Life and High School Sports

Josh Robinson grew up in Plantation, Florida. He went to Plantation High School. There, he played many positions for the football team. He was a wide receiver, running back, and cornerback. His coach was Steve Davis.

As a junior, Josh caught 15 passes for 286 yards. He also scored two touchdowns. He ran for 136 yards and scored three touchdowns on kick returns. In his senior year, he had 18 catches for 364 yards, even though he was injured. He was chosen for the Dade-Broward All-Star Game.

Josh was also a great athlete on the school's track team. In 2008, he ran the 100 meters in 10.77 seconds. He also ran the 200 meters in 21.61 seconds. He also competed in the long jump.

College Football Career

Robinson went to the University of Central Florida. He played for the UCF Knights football team. He started 35 of the 38 games he played in college.

Getting Ready for the NFL Draft

Time with the Minnesota Vikings

Starting His NFL Career in 2012

The Minnesota Vikings picked Josh Robinson in the third round of the 2012 NFL draft. He was the seventh cornerback chosen that year. On July 25, 2012, the Vikings signed him to a four-year contract. It was worth about $3.02 million.

During training camp, he competed for a starting spot. He missed some time with a hamstring injury. But he came back to compete for the third cornerback position. The head coach, Leslie Frazier, named him the third cornerback.
