June Lake is a beautiful mountain lake located in the Inyo National Forest. You can find it in Mono County, which is in eastern California. This lake sits high up in the mountains, at an elevation of about 7,621 feet (2,323 meters) in the Eastern Sierra Nevada.

Where is June Lake Located?
June Lake is easy to find! It's about 20 miles north of Mammoth Lakes and 15 miles south of Lee Vining, California. It's part of a special area called the June Lake Loop. This loop includes four amazing lakes: June Lake, Gull Lake, Silver Lake, and Grant Lake.
To get there, you can drive about 5 miles south from the bottom of Mono Lake on U.S. Route 395. Then, you'll turn west for 2 miles onto State Route 158.

Fishing for Trout
One of the most popular activities in the summer is fishing. You might be able to catch a special type of fish called a Lahontan cutthroat trout in June Lake. Back in the 1960s, there were lots of rainbow trout here too!
Boating and Marinas
If you love being on the water, June Lake has two marinas. A marina is a place where boats can dock. These are the June Lake Marina and the Big Rock Resort. They are great places to start your boating adventures on the lake.
