Muay Thai Journey
Justine spent 10 years competing in Muay Thai. During this time, she won 18 matches. She also earned a championship belt from the World Muaythai Council. This showed her skill and dedication in the sport.
Mixed Martial Arts Career
Justine Kish began her professional mixed martial arts (MMA) career in 2010. She quickly built an impressive record. She won her first five fights without any losses. One of her early wins was against Randa Markos, who later became famous on The Ultimate Fighter.
Joining The Ultimate Fighter
In September 2013, the UFC announced that Justine was chosen for The Ultimate Fighter: A Champion Will Be Crowned. This TV show helps new fighters get into the UFC. Justine was picked by coach Anthony Pettis. She was supposed to fight Bec Rawlings in the first round. However, a knee injury forced her to leave the tournament. This injury also kept her from fighting in the show's finale. Despite this, Justine still made her UFC debut in 2015.
Fighting in the UFC
Justine Kish had her first official UFC fight on January 2, 2016, at UFC 195. She fought Nina Ansaroff and won the fight by a unanimous decision. This means all the judges agreed she won.
Her next fight was on December 9, 2016, at UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Abdurakhimov. She faced Ashley Yoder and won by unanimous decision again.
On June 25, 2017, Justine fought Felice Herrig at UFC Fight Night: Chiesa vs. Lee. She lost this fight by unanimous decision. During this match, Justine had a moment that got a lot of media attention. She later responded to it with humor.
Justine then fought Ji Yeon Kim on January 27, 2018. She lost this fight by a split decision. This means the judges did not all agree on who won. Many sports reporters thought Justine should have won.
After a two-year break, Justine returned to the UFC on January 25, 2020. She fought Lucie Pudilová and won by unanimous decision.
On September 12, 2020, Justine faced Sabina Mazo. She lost this fight in the third round by a submission move called a rear-naked choke.
Her last UFC fight was on April 17, 2021, against Tracy Cortez. Tracy Cortez weighed a little too much for the fight, so part of her earnings went to Justine. Justine lost this close fight by a split decision. Soon after, it was announced that Justine was no longer fighting for the UFC.
Moving to Bellator MMA
On January 6, 2022, Justine Kish signed a contract with Bellator MMA, another big mixed martial arts organization.
