Künten is a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the Baden area, within the canton of Aargau. Künten is situated along the Reuss River. In 1973, another nearby community called Sulz joined with Künten to become one municipality.

History of Künten

Künten was first mentioned in old writings around the years 1101 to 1150. Back then, its name was spelled Chünten. However, the oldest document we have today is a copy made in the 1300s.

Künten covers an area of about 4.9 square kilometers (about 1.9 square miles). A large part of this land, about 56%, is used for farming. Forests cover about 27% of the area. Around 13% of the land has buildings and roads. The rest, about 4%, includes rivers or other natural areas.

The municipality is in the Baden district. It includes two main parts: the village of Künten itself, which is on the road between Bremgarten and Fislisbach, and the village of Sulz, which is located along the Reuss River.
