Kakat Lake, also called Kakat Mitatut Lake, is a cool glacial lake. It is where Holt Lake and Mistik Creek meet. You can find it about 21 kilometers (13 miles) northeast of Bakers Narrows in Manitoba, Canada.
This lake is part of the Mistik Creek, which flows into the Nelson River. The Nelson River then carries water to Hudson Bay. This whole area is in the Northern Region of Manitoba.
The land around Kakat Lake is covered by a mixed deciduous and coniferous forest. This forest is part of the Churchill River Upland, which is a section of the Midwestern Canadian Shield forests. The area has rocky ridges and wet, swampy spots called muskeg. The lake's edges are stony and uneven because of glaciers that shaped the land long ago.
Kakat Lake is also a stop on the "Mistik Creek Loop." This is a famous canoe route that is 95 kilometers (59 miles) long. People can paddle the whole loop in about four days.
