Kammersrohr is a very small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the canton of Solothurn, which is like a state. Kammersrohr sits on a flat area at the bottom of the Jura Mountains.

This municipality is special because it's the smallest in all of Switzerland. It has the fewest people living there and covers the smallest amount of land.

Kammersrohr's History

Kammersrohr was first mentioned in official writings way back in the year 1374. At that time, it was known by the name ze Rore.

Kammersrohr's Geography

In 2009, Kammersrohr covered an area of about 0.95 square kilometers (0.37 square miles). A large part of this land, about 55.8%, is used for farming. This means people grow crops or raise animals there.

About 40% of the land is covered by forests. The remaining small part, about 3.2%, has buildings and roads. Most of the forest is dense, while some areas have smaller groups of trees or orchards.

Kammersrohr's Coat of Arms

The blazon (official description) of Kammersrohr's coat of arms is quite unique. It shows a red star between two green reed plants. These plants have black fruits and two leaves each. They grow from a green hill with three small peaks.

Kammersrohr has a very small population. In 2008, about 2.8% of the people living there were from other countries. Between 1999 and 2009, the number of people in Kammersrohr decreased by about 15.9%.
