Karlskoga Municipality (Karlskoga kommun) is a local government area in central Sweden. It is part of Örebro County. The main town and administrative center is Karlskoga.
Other smaller towns and villages in the municipality include Valåsen och Labbsand, Kortfors, Linnebäck, and Villingsberg.
Karlskoga started as a rural municipality in 1863. This was when Sweden first created local government areas. In 1925, the southern part of Karlskoga became its own municipality, called Degerfors Municipality.
In 1940, the entire Karlskoga municipality, even its non-urban areas, was given the title of a "city." However, these special city titles were removed in 1971.
